OPPORTUNITIES
When Doma co-founders Alexandra Bodnarchuk and Brandon Musser moved to the Twin Cities in 2016, they were invigorated by the number of WIP and showing opportunities that existed. Unfortunately since then, and especially since the pandemic, many of those opportunities no longer exist.
Often working with duration and long form ideas, Bodnarchuk frequently felt limited by the short time slots available to emerging choreographers in WIP settings. When they decided to keep the Doma space in the Hennepin Center for the Arts, finding ways to offer the space to choreographers was high on their list.
Doma means “"at home” in the Rusyn language.
Making and having their own space deeply and positively impacted Doma’s process because they had a home to grow from.
This was the North Star that guided them to develop the programs available today. Read on for program specifics and availability.
